 Services & Rates

Rates for my services are negotiable on a per-project basis. Smaller projects of a well defined scope will be charged by the hour as specified below. If the project warrants it, I may offer a day rate. I will accept invitations to act as producer on a record only if the quality of the artist's music meets my standards, and only if both myself and the artist feel we can work creatively together. For this reason I generally only produce artists based on the recomendations of other people I know and repect.

All services require a 50% down payment on the estimated cost with the balance due upon the completion of work. All mixes and recordings remain my property and may not be used for commercial purposes until payment is received in full.

I charge $30/hour for mixing and editing at my studio. I can also engineer recording sessions at the studio of your choice.

I am available as a session musician, for which I charge $50/hour with a one hour minimum.

How much will a mix cost?

The amount of time it takes to complete a mix depends on several factors. Obviously the complexity of the material plays a major role. I can mix a singer with acoustic guitar accompaniment very quickly, while a full band with many overdubs will take considerably longer. Also please take note that the quality of the recording, arrangement, and performance will affect how long a mix takes. It is a music industry cliche to say that "we can fix it in the mix"; and while it is true that I can do some amazing stuff with Pro Tools, it is always preferable to get the music sounding a good as possible before you bring it to me.
